Window showcase exhibition

From March to mid May we will show the results of TALC’s “My World in a Box” art pack project in our window showcase. Some children and young people created their own shapes, which were laser cut at TALC out of plywood.
The artist Joseph Cornell called his boxes, which he created during his life in relative physical isolation, shadow boxes. “Shadow boxes become poetic theatre or settings wherein are metamorphosed the elements of a childhood pastime,” Cornell once explained.
TALC’s art pack “My World in a Box” comes with LED lights. Once they are switched on – we call them “light boxes”. Children and Young people choose a wide range of themes: the natural environment, fairy tales, Computer games, food, …
The window showcase exhibitions are funded by Creative Communities and Creative Scotland.
